Girl, 8, grazed by bullet in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Police Department confirms an 8-year-old girl was injured after a shooting on Wednesday night. 

Police say the incident happened near a Circle K gas station near the Columbus Civic Center at the intersection of 4th St. and 3rd Ave. around 10 p.m. 

Officers say a man was shooting his gun in the area on Veterans Pkwy.

The girl was hit in the arm as her mother was driving down the road. The girl was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
