COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Thursday was the final day of the annual summer DARE program hosted by the Columbus Police Department.

Students went on a number of field trips this year, including Stars and Strikes, Coca Cola Space and Science Center and the Columbus Aquatic Center.

This year’s focus was on the prevention of violence and cyberbullying.

"I learned a few things I didn't know about drugs and how they can kill people," said one student.

"The DARE program basically extends on what you learn at school," said another.

Students say they were given information and tools to help them avoid peer pressure and other negative activities.
