COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr made it official this week – he is running for re-election.
Darr posted photos on his Facebook page Wednesday as he signed paperwork to qualify to be on the ballot.
"It has been my honor and privilege to serve the citizens of this community and I look forward to being given the opportunity to continue to do so. I want to thank everyone for their support and would like to ask for your vote in November," Darr said in his post.
Darr, who has served as the Muscogee County Sheriff for seven years, is running as an Independent this time around.
He will face Democrat Donna Tompkins and Republican Mark LaJoye on Nov. 8.
