Opelika police have identified a victim from an early morning shooting that left one person dead.
Police say the victim is 29-year old Dontavious Jones.
Officers responded to the 500 block of South Antioch Circle about a person who had been shot Thursday morning.
Police say a suspect and the man killed were arguing over money when the shooting happened.
That's when police located Jones lying behind one of the apartments suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Jones was pronounced dead on the scene just after 5 a.m.
"We think the shooting last night was targeted the victim was specifically targeted by the person that did this so I don't think it is cause for alarm, we don't think there is a person out there running around wanting to harm everyone.," Captain Shane Healey with the Opelika Police Department told News Leader Nine.
The incident is still under investigation.
