2 rescued from Martha’s Falls on Independence Day

FORT PAYNE, AL (WTVM) -

On Monday, July 4 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Aviation Unit rescued two injured victims from Martha’s Falls in Fort Payne, AL. 

ALEA received the assistance request from the Fisher Rescue Squad at about 3:56 p.m. CDT. 

The aviation unit used its long-line extraction capabilities to rescue the two victims from the waterfall. 

The two victims were then transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. 

ALEA was assisted by the DeKalb Rescue Service, The Adamsburg Fire Department, and Fisher Rescue Squad, which helped guide the rope system.
