COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Market Days takes place every Saturday in Uptown Columbus on Broadway, but in recent months there have been an influx of children making their way to Market Days, thanks to Crayons Crafts and Kool Kids.
"Crayons Crafts and Kool Kids is a platform that allows children to sell their handmade items to the community and earn some money while they are doing it," said Sherricka Day the Founder of Crayons Crafts and Kool Kids.
The children involved range in ages from three years old up to 16 years old, and they are selling a variety of items from artwork and clothing to bake goods and lemonade.
Making money is certainly up on the list for these children but Ms. Day has a different set of goals, "I just really want to teach children on how to expand on their creative talents. Not to be afraid of to be creative with what they are already working with. And also to teach them about business at an early age."
One young entrepreneur, Andalyn Hester, sells homemade tank tops and other clothing, she says that she has made up to as much as $30 in profit in one day. But the money is not the reason why she does it.
