COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Midland Community Farmers Market is honoring veterans in a special way.

The market donated $1,200 to the Chattahoochee Valley House of Heroes organization to assist Vietnam Veterans in the community.

This year is the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War and the House of Heroes is assisting veterans on medical waiting lists.

Larry Cline with Farmers Market spoke about why they donated the money.

“Several of our club members are veterans I am and then a lot of our vendors are also veterans so, it was an easy choice when we decide who we were going to give money to this year,” said Larry Cline with the Midland Community Farmers Market.

The Midland Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until noon on Warm Springs Road.
