MOST WANTED: Derain Waller

MOST WANTED: Derain Walker

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police are still searching for a third suspect connected to a deadly shooting that happened last month near a public park.

It's a murder case that's still open, but with your help Columbus police can close this case and provide closure for a family in grief.

The 24-year-old victim was shot and killed on June 15 near the basketball court on Double Churches Road in Columbus.

"The victim was Demonde Dicks Jr," said Officer Paul Moody with the Columbus Police Department. "He was transported to the medical center and was pronounced deceased from his injuries."

Officer Moody says two others have been arrested in connection to this case. They are 19-year-old Jacquawn Clark and 21-year-old Akeveius Powell but the third suspect, 25-year-old Derain Waller is still on the loose.

Although Waller is on the run, he can't hide forever, but with your help his arrest could come sooner than later.

Since the shooting, the family of the victim has come forward to offer a $2,500 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of Waller.

Remember every police system across the country has Waller's criminal history stored in their database, so it's only a matter of time before police finally catch their guy.

"Anywhere, whether here locally or outside of the local area," Officer Moody said. "If police come in contact with him that warrant will show."

If you know where Derain Waller is hiding out, give police a call at (706) 653-3400.

Remember, there's a reward offered for information that will lead to an arrest and you do not have to give your name.
