COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Fountain City is getting a little taste of Eastern culture.
The Columbus Public Library hosted a Japanese artwork exhibit on Thursday afternoon.
The artwork was done by elementary students from Kiryu, Japan as part of a group called Circle.
Organizers talked about what makes this event important to the community.
"I think it is important to know the culture of our city as well as the culture of others that live in our city from connecting countries, so bringing that element to Columbus and letting our youth know that they can be empowered by our artistic ability," said Matty Hall, chair for Circle.
Columbus and Kiryu have a long history of cultural exchanges. This is the second year the event has been held.
