Columbus girls honored for Bold Moves

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It takes "bold moves" to make your dreams come true!

That was the message Thursday night at the Springer Opera House as several young ladies were honored during the Bold Moves Awards ceremony.

It's a program sponsored by Aflac through Girls Inc.

Some 20 Columbus teens completed the summer leadership program which brought in professionals to teach them things like resume writing, public speaking and much more.

"It gives them the opportunity to interact with these professionals and really understand what they need to do with interview skills, with social media presence so it's a wonderful program," said Teresa White, President of Aflac U-S and creator of the Bold Moves program. "Girls Inc. always talks about making sure that girls are smart, strong and bold and Bold Moves continues that mantra."

WTVM'S Barbara Gauthier was the Mistress of Ceremonies for this 2nd annual event.
