CPD arrests man for trafficking cocaine

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus police arrested a man on multiple charges including trafficking cocaine.

On Wednesday, July 27 police conducted surveillance of the area of 5th Ave. and 24th St. The surveillance led to the arrest of 23-year-old Fernando Brown.

Brown was charged with the following offenses:

  • Loud music
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes
  • Possession of drug-related items narcotic equipment
  • Obstruction of officer
  • Participant in gang criminal activity
  • Theft by receiving stolen property in another state
  • Fleeing to elude law enforcement
  • Driving while licensed suspended or revoked
  • No proof of insurance
