UPDATE: LaGrange PD says no suspects sought in man caught on fire incident

LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) – On Friday, July 29 around 11:52 p.m. the LaGrange Police Department was called to the WellStar West Georgia Hospital Emergency room regarding someone who was burned on Wright Street.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the victim who stated that he was set on fire by an unknown male(s).

The victim was transported to a burn hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Upon further investigation, LPD said the offense has been downgraded from aggravated assault to person with injuries and that no suspects are being sought at this time. 

"Investigation into this matter revealed that there was no evidence of Telly Dukes being intentionally set on fire. Further investigation has revealed that the origin of the fire that burned Telly Dukes appears to be accidental," LPD said in a press release on Monday.
