2 arrested following shooting in North Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus police made two arrests in connection with a shooting in North Columbus.

According to a police report, on Friday around 8:50 p.m. police were called to the area of Bradley Park Drive and Whitesville Road regarding a tan Lincoln Aviator firing shots at another vehicle.

The investigation led to the arrest of Amanda Armitage and Antonio Ruiz, both 36 years old.

They were charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of firearm or knife during commission of a crime
  • Aggravated assault
  • Gun cruelty to children
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Amphetamine
  • Possession of substances with intent to use
  • Discharging firearms in city
  • Discharge of gun or pistol near public highway
  • Obstruction of an officer

Armitage and Ruiz are both expected to appear in court on Friday, Aug. 5 at 2p.m.

This case is still under investigation.
