AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Earlier this week, the Auburn University School of Nursing held its first healthcare and nursing camp.
From performing injections to talking with real nurses and even touring East Alabama Medical Center, campers were able to get some interactive hands-on experience early.
The goal is to expose these high school students to career opportunities within the field.
"It has most definitely impacted the future because I have gotten to go EAMC and see how it all works and practicing skills and stuff because you never know what goes into it, but now I do know," said camper Kate DeYoung.
A total of 27 students took part in this year's camp. There are plans to host it again in the future.
