COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Following recent national headlines involving police officers, a Columbus tattoo parlor is joining the trend to help "Back the Blue."

Alley Cat's Elite Tattoo World has started a special that will give a free law enforcement themed tattoo to any law enforcement officer.

Additionally, if anyone else in the community is interested in getting a law enforcement tattoo they will get it at a discounted rate. A portion of the profits will go back to a local law enforcement agency.

"My phone is ringing off the hook and my Facebook is blowing up so I think it is going to be pretty big," said store owner Al "Alley Cat" Colden. "The people that have already gotten it done so far seem to be really appreciative of it, and we appreciate them that is why we are doing it."

Colden says people have come from as far as Americus to take advantage of the special, but he hopes it can reach even farther than that.

Alley Cat's Elite Tattoo World is located at 4361 Victory Drive in Columbus. For more information visit their Facebook page
