JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Governor Robert Bentley attended a ribbon cutting for Oxford Pharmaceuticals in Birmingham Monday.

The company invested approximately $29 million to build a facility to manufacture generic drugs and plans on hiring 200 employees.

Birmingham Mayor William Bell says the success of this facility shows what a great business choice Birmingham is.

"If you can have a facility in Birmingham you'll have all kind of support not just the financial support to build this facility, but the support to go and increase your market share around the world," Bell said.

The manufacturing facility is located on 24 acres in the Jefferson Metropolitan Park at Lakeshore along Lakeshore Parkway.
