Major drug bust leads to a string of arrests in Tallapoosa Co.

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - On Aug. 2, 2016, the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force, US Marshal Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force, Camp Hill Police Department, Alexander City SRG Team, Tallassee Police Department, Alexander City Housing Authority, Notasulga Police Department and Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department executed two search warrants in the Camp Hill area.

Operation Recoil was the culmination of controlled buys and hours of physical surveillance over the past six months. The Task Force seized approximately 10 grams of crack, 16 grams of marijuana, a 9mm pistol, and a 2002 Chevy Impala.

Eric Black, 39, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • 20 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance
  • Certain persons forbidden to possess firearm
  • Two counts of possession controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Kenyetta Beavers, 39, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • 10 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance
  • 6 counts of Conspiracy to commit controlled substance crime
  • 2 counts of possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Certain persons forbidden to possess firearm
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Tyneshia Beavers, 19, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • 2 counts of possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Eva Mae Ford, 64, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
  • 4 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance
  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Justavious Williams, 24, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • 2 counts of possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first- degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

The Task Force made other arrests over the past month that were considerable and significant to the predawn drug raids in the Camp Hill area. During the month of July the seizure of 22 pounds of marijuana, over $12,000.00 in cash and firearm related charges lead investigators down the right path.

Kilpatrick McKinney, 33, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Jeffery Smith, 36, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Nicholas Leonard, 29, was arrested and charged with the following offense:

  • Trafficking hydrocodone
  • Calvin King, 31, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first- degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Vanessa Crayton, 40, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the first-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Byron Keith Greathouse, 39, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Trafficking marijuana
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Attempt to elude
  • Obstruction of governmental operations

Decondra Crawley, 35, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Trafficking marijuana
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Attempt to elude
  • Obstruction of governmental operations

Franklin Scott Glass, 34, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Distribution of a controlled substance
  • Terroristic threat
  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana in the second-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

The investigation into the illegal trafficking, distribution, and possession of narcotics is ongoing in Tallapoosa County.
