A wrongful death civil suit has been filed against the city of auburn for a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened in April.
The suit claims the officers were negligent and reckless in a shooting that killed Melissa Boarts.
Her family says the 36-year-old suffered from bi-polar disorder and was threatening suicide when her mother called 9-1-1 for help.
Police shot Boarts when they say she charged at them with a weapon.
In response to the suit the city of Auburn released this statement saying quote: "Since that case is still pending the results of the Macon County Grand Jury, we must respect that investigative process and refrain from offering comment until the grand jury proceedings are done."
