COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Two suspects arrested in connection to a shooting in North Columbus last Friday appeared in court Friday, Aug. 5.

Amanda Armitage and Antonio Ruiz plead not guilty to gun-related charges of firing shots in the direction of a moving car.

Columbus police say on the night of July 29 they were called to the area of Bradley Park Drive and Whitesville Road on reports of a Lincoln Aviator firing shots at another vehicle.

Police testified that one of the suspects fired two shots at an SUV with a couple and their 1-year-old twins in the vehicle, which was headed near Bradley Park Drive and Whitesville Road.

The investigation led to the arrest of Armitage and Ruiz, both 36 years old.

The vehicle was not hit by any bullets and no one was injured. Bonds were set for assault, gun, and drug charges.

The case was bound over to Superior Court.
