Auburn man arrested for burglarizing a business near S. College St.

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On Thursday, Aug. 4, the Auburn Police Division arrested 18-year-old Eric Lamar Nelms Jr., from Auburn on felony warrants charging him with burglary in the third-degree and two counts of theft of property in the first- degree.

The arrest is the result of an investigation into a burglary and theft that occurred on July 25th at a business in the 1600 block of S. College Street.

According to police, someone illegally entered the business while it was closed and stole property and an undetermined amount of cash.

An investigation by Auburn police resulted in Nelms being developed as a suspect after he was captured on video surveillance and identified as the person responsible. Warrants were obtained for his arrest and he was subsequently located by police and taken into custody.

Nelms was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $13,000 bond.
