Auburn man arrested on burglary and sexual abuse charges

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On Friday, Aug. 5, the Auburn Police Division arrested 27-year-old Cody Lamar Waller from Auburn on felony warrants charging him with burglary in the second degree and sexual abuse in the first-degree.

At approximately 3:50 a.m. Auburn Police responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence in the 800 block of West Long Leaf Drive.

Responding officers were given the description of a suspect that had unlawfully entered an occupied apartment and inappropriately touched the 24-year-old female tenant before fleeing in a vehicle.

Officers located a suspect and vehicle matching the description provided to police fleeing the area and conducted a traffic stop.  The driver was identified as Cody Lamar Waller.

Further investigation by Auburn police resulted in Waller being developed as a suspect and identified as the individual responsible for illegally entering the residence.

Waller was transported to the Lee County Jail where he will be eligible for a $30,000 bond
