COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – On Friday, Aug. 5 around 10: 20 p.m. Columbus police conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of 24-year-old Marquez Taylor.
According to police reports, an officer observed a green 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee drive into Northgate Village Apartments located at 1440 Warm Springs Rd.
When the vehicle passed the police officer, he noticed it did not have any working tag light(s), which led to a traffic stop on the vehicle. The officer then spoke with Taylor about the violation and it was apparent that the vehicle contained suspected marijuana.
The total amount of suspected marijuana was approximately 31.34 grams with a street value of $313.40. The officer also seized 58 ecstasy pills with a street value of $25 per pill totaling a value of $1,450.
Police also located a black ski mask in the rear seat of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Columbus Towing and Recovery.
Taylor was charged with possession of ecstasy, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, no tag light and possession of drug-related items narcotic equipment.
