Auburn man arrested for stealing more than $1K worth of property

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, the Auburn Police Division arrested 49-year-old Henry L. Ogletree on a felony warrant.

Ogletree, who resides in Auburn, AL, was charged with theft of property in the second-degree.

The arrest is the result of an investigation into a theft complaint which occurred in the 100 Block of Hemlock Dr., that occurred on Aug. 9, 2016.

It was reported that a suitcase containing various jewelry and clothing valued at more than $1,500 was stolen after it was placed adjacent to the complainant's vehicle.

A black male on a bicycle was observed leaving the scene with her suitcase. Auburn officers responded to the area and contacted Ogletree a short distance from the scene and he was identified as the person who committed the crime. 

Ogletree was arrested and charged with the offense of theft of property in the second-degree. He was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $3,000 bond.
