RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has confirmed that four people are dead following a 2-vehicle accident on AL 26 Saturday in Hurtsboro.
ALEA confirms that Travis Latrell Davis, 33, of Columbus, was killed when the 2013 Ford F-150 in which he was a passenger in collided with a 1995 Toyota Avalon before catching fire. Davis was pronounced dead at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus shortly after the accident.
The driver of the Toyota, Deontaye Caple, 19, of Phenix City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An unidentified passenger in the truck was also pronounced dead at the scene. None of the three individuals killed were using seat belts.
A fourth victim has died as a result of the crash. Desmond James, 18, of Phenix City was pronounced dead at Columbus Midtown Medical Center. He was a passenger in the Toyota.
The crash happened at 7:22 a.m. Saturday on AL 26 at the two-mile marker, two miles east of Hurtsboro.
