City of Columbus announces upcoming closures for Labor Day

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The City of Columbus is announcing alterations or suspensions on all services on Monday, Sept. 5. 

The exceptions include emergency services such as fire, police, and ambulance. For emergency services, please call the 911 Emergency Center. 

Waste/Recycle will not be picked up on Sept. 5. Monday routes will be collected Wednesday, Sept. 7. All other services will be provided on their normal collection day. Normal service will resume Thursday, Sept. 8. 

The 311 Citizens Service Center, Granite Bluff and Pine Grove landfills, and Animal Control will be closed Sept. 5. 

Parks and Recreation facilities will be open Sept. 5, but the administrative office will be closed. 

There will be no METRA bus service on Sept. 5. Normal service resumes on Sept. 6. 

Recorder’s Court will only be open for the 8 a.m. session on Sept. 5. 

The Columbus Ice Rink will be open Sept. 5, but the administrative office will be closed.
