COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Columbus Police Department confirmed that four children have returned back to Columbus to be with their mother after they stayed with their father longer than expected.
Sgt. Andrew Chesser with the Columbus Police Department confirmed that the children were returned safely to the police department on Monday afternoon with their father, Jarvis Brown.
On Aug. 19, CPD released a BOLO for Brown and his four children, who their mother says failed to return them home in time to begin school. Because of his actions, warrants were issued for Brown's arrest for four counts of interstate interference with custody.
Brown was arrested and charged with four counts of interstate interference with custody and booked into the Muscogee County Jail. He will make his first court appearance on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.
Sgt. Chesser said that Brown turned himself in and returned his children when someone who recognized the children saw the alerts through media coverage.
