CSU Police officer discovers purr-fectly unexpected passenger in truck engine

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A young kitten accidentally went on a ride-along in the engine of a CSU Police officer's truck and lived to meow about it.

Sergeant James Geeslin had just gotten off duty one night over the weekend and was driving when he kept hearing a strange noise.

It wasn't the sound of his engine purring that caused him to pull over – rather, it was the cries of a young kitten in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Sgt. Geeslin said he was surprised when he discovered the unwitting passenger in his truck engine.

The 5-week-old kitten was safely rescued from his truck engine without a scratch.

CSU Police said a friend of one of their dispatchers then adopted the kitten and named him Cody.

After Cody's near-death experience, he seems to be living hap-purr-ly ever after and feline just fine.
