FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - The ribbon has been cut and the doors are now open at a new 21st Century school on Fort Benning.
The new McBride Elementary School was officially dedicated in a ceremony on Tuesday.
Some of the elements of the new school will focus on collaborative learning and using the building as a teaching tool, among other things.
School District Superintendent Dr. Christy Huddleston says this new building is more than just a building – it is meant to take teaching to the next level.
"It's more than just the technology; it's how they integrate certain skills – and that's what a lot of people think 21st Century education is technology- but really it's about developing skills that's going to help students be successful in a global world," Dr. Huddleston said.
The new building includes seven "Learning Neighborhoods," each with four Learning Studios.
Group and Virtual Learning Room is also included in each Neighborhood.
