WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) - A West Point man has been arrested in connection to a 2015 shooting that injured two people.
Kwmane Marquez Trammell, 25, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 24 by the West Point Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The arrests were in reference to an incident on March 14, 2015 at 9:57 p.m., where the West Point Police Department, received a complaint in reference to shots being fired in the area of East 11th Street.
While officers were responding to this area to investigate the complaint, the West Point Police Department 911 center received a second call from female who identified herself as 22-year-old Jasmin Silmon of Valley, AL.
Silmon told officials she and 22-year-old Demarquez Jenkins had both been shot during an attempted armed robbery by five people. She was shot once in the right upper thigh and hip area, and Jenkins was shot in the right hand and the right side of his face.
Both identified Trammell and 22-year-old Morquavious Monriqua Brooks, who was later arrested May 6, 2016, as two of the five individuals who attempted to rob them at gunpoint.
Silmon was later released from Lanier Hospital after being treated for her injury and Demarquez Jenkins was transported Midtown Medical Center for further medical treatment.
This incident was investigated by the West Point Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Both Trammel and Brooks are charged with attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.
