COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One child remains hospitalized in Atlanta and six others have since been released following the Muscogee County bus accident on Monday that killed bus driver Roy Newman.
Officials with the school district say there haven't been any official vigils, but we are learning the details of Newman's funeral arrangements.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home. His funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. at Evangel Temple.
Initial autopsy results show Newman died from injuries received during the accident, but officials are waiting on a toxicology report to show if any health-related emergencies may have contributed to the crash.
"We'll receive a written report in ten days to two weeks," said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. "The written report will go into a little bit more depth as to their findings, concerning health issues or other circumstances that might have been some type of an additional cause."
The accident report lists the cause of the accident as "driver lost control," and while there were no tests done, officials did not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
