The Marion County School District and Marion County Sheriff's office is investigating a picture that surfaced of a student holding a gun on a school bus.
Marion School District Assistant Superintendent Glen Tidwell said they received the picture from a concerned parent on Monday.
Immediately, Tidwell contacted the Marion County Sheriff's Office, and they met the high school student at his home after he had gotten off of the bus.
The sheriff's office was unable to find a gun at the residence but their investigation is still ongoing.
Tidwell says that the school district will proceed with disciplinary actions assuming that the gun was real, saying that in situations like this they don't take any chances.
