MERIWETHER COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

Zombie fans rejoice! A new geocache trail based on the hit show The Walking Dead is now open in Meriwether County.

The trail officially launched Sunday at 11 a.m. at Lake Meriwether. Officials are encouraging everyone to come out.

Fans will be able to use the trail and receive prizes once they are done.

A makeup artist from The Walking Dead was also on site to transform people into zombies.

City officials in Woodbury came up with this idea to capitalize on the fame the town got from the fictional community of Woodbury in the show.
