COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A pizza delivery driver says two people approached him during an attempted armed robbery outside of a Columbus State University dormitory, according to a CSU Cougar Alert issued on Sunday.

The alert says the attempted armed robbery happened around 9 p.m. on Sunday, outside of the entrance of the Courtyard 1 housing area, located on College Drive.

The driver was approached by one male suspect when a second male suspect approached who reportedly fired one shot into the ground.

Both suspects left the area in a light-colored Toyota Camry.

If you have any information on this incident, please contact CSU Police at (706)-507-8911.

This is the third incident that's prompted a CSU Cougar Alert in as many weeks. On Aug. 22, a campus alert was issued when an armed robbery suspect was seen running toward CSU's main campus. The armed robbery happened on Warm Springs Road, and it is unknown if a suspect was ever apprehended.

On Aug. 31, Clearview Hall was thoroughly searched when a call was made about an armed person inside the dorm. No suspect was apprehended in that incident and the dormitory was given the all-clear two hours after the call was made.
