EAMC collecting donations for Baton Rouge flood victims

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - An Opelika hospital is doing their part to help the victims of the Louisiana flooding.

East Alabama Medical Center is spearheading a community effort to provide relief for employees of seven Baton Rouge hospitals.

Those are the Baton Rouge General Hospital, Women's Medical Center, Ochsner Medical Center, Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center and three affiliate hospitals.

Roughly a third of employees at those hospitals have lost all of their belongings and are in need of cleaning supplies, toiletries, baby items, household items, and school supplies.

EAMC will be collecting supplies until Monday, Sept. 12. A list of supplies needed are below:

Supplies can be dropped off at the pod in the back of the parking lot at the EAMC Education Center at 2027 Pepperell Parkway from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to EAMC Cornerstone and put Flood Relief in the memo line.
