COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The last two suspects arrested in connection with the shooting of Deonn Carter last month appeared in recorder's court on Thursday.
Quamaine Thomas, 18, and Tauron Stepney were arrested on Sept. 1.
Both pled not guilty with their respective attorneys present. They were both denied bond on the murder charge and $10,000 bond each on the burglary charges.
The officers involved testified that the investigation is continuing and attorneys plead not guilty for their clients.
Stepney's attorney, Bobby Jones, maintains that evidence will show that his client was nowhere near the scene of the crime and was not involved in the murder.
On Friday, Aug. 26 police issued murder warrants for Thomas, Stepney and three other suspects in the shooting of Carter on Aug. 9 during a robbery outside his apartment on Aug. 9 and died unexpectedly 11 days later.
Dequoyae Waldon, 22, Travarus Thomas, 20, and Tyquez Davis, 17, were also arrested and charged with murder. All three suspects also pled not guilty during a preliminary hearing last week.
