Columbus man accused of shooting, killing stepson denied bond

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A man accused of shooting and killing his stepson in an early morning shooting on Sept. 2 was denied during a preliminary hearing on Thursday.

Daniel Kennedy was arrested and charged with the murder of his stepson, Shawn Gentile, 25, at a home on 20th Avenue on Sept. 2.

Kennedy pled not guilty during a preliminary hearing in recorder's court on Thursday.

He was denied bond on the murder charge and his case was bound over to superior court; Kennedy was granted a $15,000 bond for the firearm possession charge.
