COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - For the eleventh annual Jim Blanchard Leadership Forum, organizers rolled out a new theme: "Leadership: It Takes a Team."
For the first time, they also brought in leaders from outside the business and technology industries, and who better to talk about leadership on a team than reigning Super Bowl Champion Peyton Manning?
Each year the organizers struggle with one question.
"Can we exceed what we did the year before, and every year we think how will we exceed this. But we have a great team at CSU that works very hard and we will. We will have a great one next year and we will talk about inspiring leadership," said Ed Helton, Assistant Vice President of Leadership and Development at CSU.
The first speaker was Ajay Banja, CEO of MasterCard.
Banja spoke about his experience working in diverse situations and how it is important to not get angry about ignorant comments.
One attended found his message very helpful.
"His perspective was great on how to react in situations when you may feel you are not being treated exactly has you should, simply don't react," Tracy Martin Immelman.
Monday afternoon was only the beginning - Peyton Manning will speak Monday night at 8 p.m.
Tuesday also features a full day of speakers.
