COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One local technical college says it is ready to lend a hand to those affected by the closure of ITT Technical Institute schools in the Southeast.
Columbus Tech and 21 other sister colleges are offering help to the thousands of students that were recently displaced by ITT Tech's closure.
While the nearest campuses to Columbus are in or near the Metro Atlanta area, the school says they want to help affected students complete their degrees.
"Sometimes you know when something happens you know life gets in the way and you're forced to stop a process quite often people don't pick that process back up," said Cheryl Myers with Columbus Tech. "We want the ITT students to know that Columbus Tech and the other technical colleges are here to help them finish what they started."
Former ITT students are encouraged to apply for Columbus Tech during the October-January time frame with open registration for spring 2017 running from Monday, Oct. 3 through Thursday, Dec. 8.
There is also an embedded session within the current semester that starts October 10 and runs through the end of this term.
Plans are in the works so ITT students will have the option to enroll in this mini-mester.
