COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Glenwood Gators football team paid tribute Friday night to a former coach who was killed in a wreck earlier this week.

On their helmets, the football team wore the initials of former Glenwood Coach Flint Sharpe and his daughter Cassidy who is a senior at Glenwood.

Sharpe was with the boys in spirit as the Gators beat Tuscaloosa Academy 33-31 in the final seconds of the game Friday night— making them 4-0 on the season so far.

Earlier in the week, members of the Glenwood senior class visited the Sharpe home to lift their spirits and express their condolences to the family.

The team will be wearing the initials “CS” and “FS” for the remainder of the season.
