Officials identify man killed in accident near LaGrange

LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

The Troup County Coroner’s Office has confirmed one person died in an accident on I-185 near LaGrange around mile marker 46 before Upper Big Springs Road. 

John Kenneth Duncan, 59, from Luthersville, GA was killed in the single-vehicle wreck. We’re also told he worked for Georgia Power. 

The accident happened around 3:25 p.m. when Duncan was traveling southbound on I-185. Georgia State Patrol said the truck went from the outside lane , partially crossed the outside fog lane, causing Duncan to over-correct and cross the lane divider and ended up on the other side of the lane in an "uncontrolled stop." 

His body will be sent to Atlanta for autopsy.
