SMITHS STATION, AL (WTVM) -

A special volleyball game was played Wednesday night between Smiths Station and Auburn High Schools.

Proceeds from the game are being donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Molly Paysinger, who is the granddaughter of Smiths Station Athletic Director Sherry Paysinger.

Members of the teams and other students from the two schools sold more than 900 t-shirts.

That money, along with ticket sales, allowed them to donate $5,000 to the Memphis hospital. The game was played at Smiths Station High School.

The teams also warmed up in Molly t-shirts and gold socks in honor of childhood cancer awareness.

Molly was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago at the age of two and is a patient at St. Jude.
