COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - More than 300 people took to the golf course on Thursday, Sept. 22 for a great cause.
Pratt and Whitney hosted its twelfth annual golf tournament to support the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.
The tournament at the Bull Creek Golf Course in Midland is expected to raise more than $100,000 for the organization.
People from all over the country, as well as two people from Singapore, are in Columbus for the fundraiser.
"This money will help us reach our goal of $7,110,000, and it will support after-school programs locally, it'll support our housing programs, it'll support our veterans, disabled… it stays right here and it helps people that need it the most," said Scott Ferguson, President and CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.
Ferguson says Thursday's tournament is completely sold out.
