COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - West Georgia Eye Care Center celebrated a new addition at a ribbon cutting for its New Lasik Center in North Columbus on Thursday.
The center is located in the Columbus Park Crossing shopping center and will offer comprehensive eye care along with Lasik surgery.
The office will also serve as a new address to the registry of the Focus On Independence Program, a nonprofit where wounded veterans can receive free eye care.
"For many of them it is difficult to deal with glasses or contacts," said Dr. Jimmy Brooks with West Georgia Eye Care Center. "Some the program provides free Lasik surgery for those that have served us so well. It's a way for us to give back to them."
Wounded veterans can sign up for the service by coming to the office or going to the West Georgia Eye Care Center website.
