(WTVM) - Tuesday, Oct. 11 is the last day to vote in Georgia and Monday, Oct. 24 marks the last day to vote in Alabama.
According to the National Voters Registration Day website, at least 6 million voters didn't cast ballots in 2008 because they missed their registration deadline or didn't know how to register.
This year, the group wants to ensure that everyone is signed up to cast their ballots Nov. 8. Events will include traditional voter registration drives, social media initiatives to showcase your civic responsibilities and celebrity endorsements.
Things you'll need to register to vote online in Georgia and Alabama:
- In Georgia, you'll need a Georgia driver's license or state-issued ID card, in addition to a signature on file at the Georgia Department of Driver Services to register online. For more information, click here.

To register in person, you can go to your local voter registration office.
