UPDATE: Kittens die after plumbing crew rescues them from street drain

Columbus plumbing crew rescues 2 of 4 kittens from street drain

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Two kittens who were recovered from a street drain on Thursday have unfortunately died on Friday.

On Thursday, a team from Roto Rooter rescued four newly born kittens from a drain on Drew Ave. in Columbus.

When the team arrived, they were able to get two of them out by hand, but two more were stuck further in the drain.

So what did they do to rescue them? The crew had to get a long pole with and net and camera to pull them out.

The group's leader says he is proud his team could help.

"I feel a lot of gratification and satisfaction," said Jason Miller. "My guys worked real hard to try and get these out before they died."
