UPDATE: CPD names suspect in Schaul St. stabbing death

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police have issued murder warrants for a man in connection with a fatal stabbing on Schaul St. in Columbus Saturday morning.

The Columbus Police Department is looking for Curtis George Porter. He is described as a black male, 5'07" tall, 190 pounds, and was last seen in a tan 1999 Toyota Camry with an Alabama tag 2975AP4.

Porter is considered dangerous and if you see him or have any information, in this case, you are asked to contact Columbus Police at 706-225-4242 or call 911.

According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, Antonio Giddens, 39, was pronounced dead Saturday at 5:49 a.m. at Midtown Medical Center.

Giddens was stabbed multiple times around 2:45 a.m. at 2323 Schaul Steet following an argument which led to a fight, Bryan said. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he died.

CPD confirms that are investigating Giddens's death as a murder and have spoken with witnesses at the scene. 

Giddens' body will now be transported for an autopsy.
