UPDATE: Pedestrian struck, killed on Armour Ave. in Columbus identified

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A pedestrian was struck and killed on Armour Avenue near Hardaway High School on Thursday. 

Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton said that a female pedestrian was struck at 9:17 a.m., and later died at Midtown Medical Center at 9:51 a.m.

Newton identified the victim as 64-year-old Oskhee Hoskins. Hoskins' body will be transported to Atlanta for an autopsy. 

Police confirmed that the male driver stayed at the scene and is in custody, but has not been charged at this time. 

Columbus police have an intersection of Armour Avenue near the accident closed off and drivers will have to find an alternate route as the investigation continues.
