COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) — The Columbus Police Department has released a picture of the suspect who shot a Columbus police officer Friday afternoon.

This suspect is responsible for stealing a scooter behind a home in the Hilton Woods area of Columbus on 18th Ave.

Columbus detectives say that 34-year-old Daniel Crisp, seen in this photo, is responsible for shooting Columbus police Officer Joshua McQuien in the 3300 block of Hilton Ave. Friday afternoon.

After several hours, they detained the suspect, 34-year-old Daniel Crisp, around 6 p.m.

Crisp is officially being charged with aggravated assault on a police officer. He will make his first court appearance in recorder's court Saturday morning at 8.
