Water service restored to 20 homes following water main break in Columbus

Water main break repairs underway in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Repairs are underway for a residential area with an eight-inch water main break at the intersection of Buckeye Way and Doerun Drive in Columbus.

According to Columbus Waterworks Vice President of Information, Security and Environmental Services Vic Burchfield, 20 homes were without water, but the services were restored around 2 p.m. on Monday.

The road is still closed until repair crews work to backfill the hole that was cut into the road while repairing the water main. The cause of the water main break is unknown at this time.
