Phenix City to host identity theft and fraud prevention workshop Tuesday

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

According to a study, one in five Americans reported being a victim of consumer fraud or identity theft. 

Law enforcement officials are warning residents about a new scam targeting elderly people.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25 the Lee-Russell Council of Governments is providing a two-hour workshop on protecting your identity.

The event will be from 10 a.m. – noon EST at the Russell County Extension Office in Phenix City.

Pre-registration is preferred, and there is no charge for this program.  Refreshments will be provided by the Lee-Russell Council of Governments.
